Every year, the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) publishes the Artificial Intelligence Index Report 2024, which tracks the trends affecting AI innovation, investment, regulation, and its social impact. It charts the progress of AI technology, like image classification and language understanding, provides information on AI investment and innovation in both business and academia, and presents the societal impacts of AI on both daily life and in the workforce. Topics such as AI training costs, responsible AI practices, and the geopolitical dynamics of AI development are covered in depth. The report aims to provide a deeper understanding of the complex field of AI, something increasingly necessary in today’s growing technical world. Most importantly, it gives us a roadmap of where AI might be going.
