As a writer, I sure hope not, but rumor recently swirled when "Nominated for a Hugo", which was written partly by AI, apparently, was speculated to be in the running for a nomination. However, it was probably nothing more than a press grab by the author. Having written a novel, I think AI would have trouble holding a reader's attention for 300 pages. An author is, literally, making 100,000 decisions on character, plot, dialogue, and it all has to work so seamlessly that a reader can unkowingly create a mental landscape of the story in his or her mind. AI is amazing but a 300+ piece of literature might be a quest too far.
